LAURA WADEK

Doula is a greek word that, directly translated, means "women's servant". 

As a doula, I do not provide medical support. However, my job is to provide educational, physical and emotional support during pregnancy, labor and birth and briefly in the post-partum period. It is my purpose to provide mothers and mothers-to-be with an empowered and positively memorable birth experience. I strive to provide my mothers with the ability to sort through their own personal concerns through empathy and grounding, to provide education at their request with the most unbiased and evidence based information available, to provide pain management derived from their own inner strength, my knowledge and resources available and to provide a smooth transition into the post-partum period. I also encourage participation from the partner and provide them with support they need as well.
